On the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation, let us come

together to raise awareness and speak out against this harmful practice. Female genital

mutilation is a violation of the basic human rights of women and girls and has no place

in our society.

Let us take a stand for gender equality and women’s health, and work towards a world

where every girl is free to live her life without the fear of this harmful tradition. It is our

duty to protect the rights of women and girls and to ensure that they receive the respect

and dignity they deserve.

We must educate ourselves, our families and our communities on the dangers and

consequences of female genital mutilation and work together to end this practice once

and for all.

Let us recommit ourselves to the goal of zero tolerance for female genital mutilation

and take action to create a world where every girl is free to live her life to the fullest,

without fear or harm.
